Camp El RANCHO

The year 5's and 6's went to El rancho for camp this year. The activities we did were:  horseriding, flying fox, archery, slug guns, water slide and go carts. We spent 2 nights and 3 days there. We had an awesome time.

Inquiry

In room 15 for inquiry this term we are learning about native trees. We are still searching for information on the computer and in books about native trees.  We would like to be able to plant some native trees somewhere in our school.  We would like whanau to help us with any seeds, saplings or small trees they might like to donate to us.  Watch this space!

Relay for Camp

On Monday the 26th of March the
Central Normal year 5 and 6's had a fundraiser for camp.  We had to run, walk, skip and jog around a track.  We got sponsors to help us pay for camp.  There was also a big rig ride that was a huge hit with everybody.  It was an awesome day.  Here are some photos to share with you.

Market to Market / Hoko atu, Hoko mai

The last two weeks have been spent practising making our candy floss and toffee apples. We found that is would be too hard to try and make two products, so we have decided to make toffee apples only. We discussed all the things we need to make sure we do and need in order to make 60 toffee apples. We have created three groups who are in charge of the different processes for making toffee apples. We have the "Preparation Group". These people are in charge of getting the ingredients, measuring and setting out the ingredients. The "Cooking Group" are in charge of making the toffee and dipping the apples. The "Packaging Group" are in charge of wrapping and labelling the toffee apples. We will be making our toffee apples to sell on Tuesday (27th September) ready for Thursday when we will be having our Market Day. We hope to have photos to share with you soon!

Week 7 Term 3

Three more weeks to go at the end of this week!!! We have been busy working on our advertising for market to market and promoting our product and store. We have come up with a slogan and logo for our store. "Candyland" is the name of our store (thank you Maana), and our slogan is"Its sweeter than sweet" (thank you Alice and Tiah). We will be practising making our product this week (candy floss and toffee apples), to make sure that we know what kinds of problems might come up when we have to make lots of our product to sell.

Whakaaro Rangatira is this Friday and all the children who have made "WISE" choices this term will be going to the lido. This is to reward all the children who have consistently made an effort to be "WISE" kids and make "WISE" decisions.
